Please reach us at contact@pbhcares.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
PBH is committed to providing personalized and compassionate care to our patients. We take the time to listen to our patients and work collaboratively to develop a treatment plan that meets their unique needs and goals.
PBH treats a wide range of mental health conditions in children and adolescents, including anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and more. Check out our services page for more details.
Dr. Purushothaman will collaborate with you to decide the appropriate frequency for in-person or virtual visits. If you opt for a virtual appointment, please ensure you are within the State of Florida at the time of your session. Based on your diagnosis, treatment plan, and prescribed medications, in-person visits may be required regularly, annually, or as needed. For virtual appointments, we offer a HIPPA secure platform to facilitate your session.
Yes, you can. Similar to other medical fields, obtaining a second opinion can be beneficial, especially in complex, refractory, non-remitting cases, or those with multiple co-morbidities, as it provides a fresh perspective.
We do not provide psychotherapy services. However, we regularly collaborate with excellent therapists in the area who specialize in various psychiatric conditions. If you are not currently in therapy and it is clinically recommended, we can suggest and refer you to trusted therapy providers within the community.
Please note that WE DO NOT ACCEPT ANY INSURANCE and are considered an out-of-network provider. However, we can provide superbills for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement for consultation services. Although PBH does not accept insurance, you may use your insurance to pay for medications and any lab tests that will be conducted.
Child and Adolescent Intake Appointment: Dr. Priti Purushothaman will meet with the patient and caregivers, obtain information from the school and therapists, and gather data to make a clear diagnosis. Together, we will determine a treatment plan and assess if medications are necessary.
Duration: 90 minutes Cost: $450
Follow-Up Appointment: We will evaluate the treatment plan and medications to ensure everything is working well for you. Follow-ups can occur once every 1 to 6 months depending on your overall progress. Duration: 30 minutes Cost: $225
At PBH, we prioritize delivering the highest quality care without the constraints imposed by insurance companies. Insurance often leads to long wait times, short appointments, and medical decisions influenced by payers rather than you and your doctor. By not participating in the insurance system, we ensure ample time for thorough evaluations and personalized treatment plans.
As a private pay practice, payment is due at the time of service, and we accept most major credit cards/HSA cards. If your insurance plan offers out-of-network reimbursement, we will provide the necessary documentation for you to submit for potential reimbursement.
We understand that unexpected situations can disrupt your plans. If you need to cancel your child's appointment, please contact us as soon as possible to reschedule. We require at least two business days' notice for cancellations or rescheduling to avoid a cancellation fee.
If you cancel within 48 hours of your appointment or if you miss your appointment, you will be charged a $100 cancellation/no-show fee.
We take your confidentiality very seriously. Under HIPAA privacy laws, we are legally prohibited from releasing your health information to anyone without your consent, except in emergencies or concerns for the safety of the child.
For an emergency, please immediately call 911 or go to the nearest ER. The toll-free national suicide prevention lifeline is 988
If you do have a non-emergency issue to discuss, please send us a secure message via the patient portal MYIO or leave a voicemail.
